then.

The cappings etc were painted when I got her and although I
stripped them off I've primed them again as they are going to be
repainted in satin black along with other bits. (I realise I'm
now probably going to get flamed for doing such a thing :-\ ;D)
Military paint is a right bastard to get off :smiley-furious:
(an industrial steam cleaning machine wouldn't touch it although
it did blast holes in the body where the ally had corroded
:2mo5pow:) so all the hours spent with acid paint stipper,
scrapers & wire wool (and holed rubber gloves and resulting acid
burns) I think means I can get away with it :smilewide:

Out of curiosity ... what is the long black heating pipe coming
out of the dash in the last photo??

They're sat in my garage. The passenger side one has donated
itself to medical science lol (the replacement one had various
issues..... rotten mudshield bracket & as it turns out, being
removed by Ebay butchers :2mo5pow:) The driver’s side one may
find it’s way to a new owner I guess :smilewide:

lol... ah I knew an eagle eyed ollr'er would spot that. It's
just a length of hose I'd just bought from my local pond supply
shop to replace the old (not long enough) heater pipe. (They
would only sell me a minimum of half a metre). The girlfriend
was with me and stuck it in the dash and then onto her lap for
the drive home
:smilewide:
