Hi all! new to this forum so play nice... (I've been on the
Series II forum for a while now so peeps may know of me)
My Name is Archie, I'm 15 years of age and I live in the Severn
Vale just south of Gloucester. When I was 9 I decided it would
be a good idea to buy the old Farm Land Rover that had been
sitting in the yard steadily shrinking into the brambles,
rusting in peace behind a skip... This knackered old wreck has
turned into a major part of my life (I've even lost a girlfriend
because of him!!)
Nad is a IIA 88 diesel, he was registered in Cheltenham
on the 2nd of feb "68 and has had 6 previous owners. All the
previous keepers have believed to have all been farmers which
makes me the 7th farmer to own him! Nad was trailed at some
point as well.

I apologise for the stupid grin...
These were taken on the ONLY day Nad has driven in 11 years (he
has moved before but that was being towed by a tractor)
Right; at 13 I took Nad apart in a matter of weeks once My dad
had trusted me with the grinder.

While I had stripped it down, I decided I needed to earn some
moneys to fund the evidently part requiring build I faced. so at
13 years of age I bought RATTY!!

I broke Ratty for spares...
I then bought 'the s**t one'

I broke 'the s**t one' for spares;This is how I sold it, great
fun to drive like that!! (note my sister not looking all that
pleased that we're about to tear around the fields...)
I Then bought Rusty!!

I broke Rusty for spares (luckily the diesel engine in it
happened to be a factory rebuilt unit!)
recurring theme here....
I earnt £1200 at 13 years old :thumbs:
I commenced an extensive repair of the chassis, replaced the
front axle with that of a Series III 109 and the rear with that
of a Salisbury from a lightweight (dunno if Series II or III),
custom rear prop for the larger diff, factory reconditioned
diesel engine from Rusty (should have kept the 200tdi from the
s**t one). original gearbox and body, new suspension and....
There could be some more that I can't remember right now!
Anyway, Nad this is Nad about 2 months ago with the
remains of Rusty...

Nad now has his engine and gear box on at the moment. plenty of
work left!!!!
BTW, at the moment I am also having a crack at a mini with my
dad (too much for a 15 year old is all this).
Dad owns the first factory luxury Range Rover built, the 79
built, 82 registered Curmit green two door. he has a soft dash
prototype (1994) Range Rover and a TD5 110 daily driver...
(overlander as well)
I'm not sure what else I should add...
meh.

Now then,
15 you say? I think you might be a bit young for this forum.
Does your mum know you've joined OLLR? It's not like the series
2 club at all; it's full of uncouth sweary people, many of whom
have no idea how many rivets are in a hardtop and have never
even polished their Land Rovers!
A word of advice - don't listen to that mick swb - tell him to
had away an' shite.

I've was on Landyzone.... really did not get on with them at all
(they thought I was a series II spy elected to join landyzone
and find out what they thought of the series II club!!!) parents
were happy with me joining that... I think I will get along
better here, series II forum tends to stick to the vehicles and
souly that. My OT threads got frowned upon....
WE ARE NOT RIVET counters by any stretch of the imagination!!
