Came up for sale not long after when the garage closed, no idea
what became of it- was advertised in the local free ads for
rather more than I felt a rotten 109" was worth. Probably 7 or 8
years ago now.

No one's yet mentioned "Jaffa", which might still be the oldest
Series 2 on the road.

I used to see this 1949 80" on the local show circuit regularly.
It was bought by Ribble Transport to tow broken-down buses and
coaches back to base (must have gone through a good number of
clutches!), and was built with ingenious swing-away wings for
quick'n'easy in-situ maintenance that would otherwise require
dismantling to get at. Oh, and the front bumper is actually
filled right to the brim with solid lead to stop it wheely-ing
with a double-decker on the back! :D

That wing idea is brill. With both wings back and the bonnet off
it'll be like making things a whole lot easier to get too.

Popped into the scrapyard today and spied this in the corner, I
asked about it and the chap said he was planning to put it on
the road, and to be fair, it did look like he was getting on
with a few jobs, hopefully I'll see it fdriving around soon!
