       Ruston & Hornsby shunter

       I spotted this little shunter on a street corner near the docks
       in Bootle today.

       It's a Ruston & Hornsby type 48DS, built in Lincoln in the 1940s
       - 48 horsepower from a 4-cylinder diesel engine, weighing 7 tons
       in working order.
       I've no idea why it's here but it's more interesting than some
       expensive  :gay:  modern art installation.

       Just googled it and found that I've seen it before, about 20
       years ago at W.H. Davis wagon works, Langwith Junction,
       Derbyshire.

       yep - see that one regular - if you wander round the docks a bit
       there is various rolling stock lying about on other
       corners/junctions  :)
