I was there in me Landy. I go every year...and get pissed of an
evening... ::)
I do have a look at the military stuff, as I do with it all over
the weekend. Just so much to see in one weekend.
Did you get to see the Shuttleworth collection?

Very nice! Rather envious. You doing GDSF with it? Good
selection of miniatures last year, and a good long run for them
alongside the Playpen too.

Brian - I am not sure. You dont just sign up to the GDSF, you
have to apply ad be approved. There is also the cost/time
involved in towing the engine down with the Land Rover (it took
over 4 hours sat at 85 in the car last year).
I will still try to attend without the engine, and will be doing
other more local shows with the engine, including Astle Park

Had three full size there last year, the head honcho would like
some miniatures along. He wants to build on stuff you wouldn't
see at a normal LR show hence the engines, classic cars,
military tackle and vintage fair. There's some pictures on
Traction Talk of last year.
The nice thing is the roads around the site, we did miles on the
engine last year and it's big enough to well avoid big gay
boingys. Real relaxed attitude - could let friends have a go etc
and not worry.
No appearance money or expenses but a generous coal allowance.
Offer's there...

I thought it was a steam show... nobody mentioned it being part
of LRM! ::)
I will have to see about that date as my term finishes on 22nd
June, then I have a wedding the weekend after that

I also thought LRM was just for Boingys. Never did realise there
was steam there.
If you exhibit, do you have to pay for camping?

Yeah I know, we were there last year (1 and a bit Land Rovers).
Seems to depend on the whim of the section organiser a bit, but
obviously being steam powered rather works to your advantage...
All being well (and assuming we get an entry) we'll be in Diesel
Heavy Haulage with a Diamond T 980 and a Unipower. Bet our
journey down takes longer and costs more than yours :P think the
T is good for about 25mph.
