Hi.
I Have come over from the darkside and just bought this.

I am up in Northumberland. (high up)
I picked the beast up from Staplehirst in Kent and Drove back up
to home over the course of a day finding out about its little
foibles as I went.
It was a long day and felt like the Darrian gap expedition..
I will post in the tech questions article The gearbox seems V
noisy and the Fairey overdrive is jumping out, so I possibly
will be looking to swap the box...And my knobs keep dropping off
I believe the use of checker plate is encouraged on this forum
;D
Neil.

Welcome.
Knobs dropping sounds painfull to say the least. As far as C/P
is concerned, least said the better unless you spend a lot of
time standing on it.

I think this truck will stay as much as nature intended as
possible...Not sure how to deal with gearbox though..It strikes
me that taking a punt on an e-bay gearbox may just leave me in
same position as I started after a hard days graft?? I have seen
some re-con ex military 101 units for sale not needing an
exchange so maybe go that route unless someone advises me
better.
I will check some history out with gaydon first though..it looks
like it may have been white originally and possibly started out
live with a slightly different body?
