1954 S1 107

Previously known as surf rover 14(or was it 15), either way its
that one ... not worked out a name for it yet, though various
unprintable ones have been suggested to date :blahblah
Anyway, not knowing much about it yet
so heres some pics
Quite allot of daylight in places where it shouldn't be

Strange hardtop will be going back to parksy for his other 107
(looks home made, but very well if it is)
Truck cab will be going on (any idea why it has vent holes in
the side?)

Attempting to open the bonnet risked a front end collapse, so
best view for now is through the bulkhead

The engine turns, which is good news (especially given its
jammed in gear and 4x4)
chassis is generally sound, but a few quite bad bits ...
repairable I think at this stage (though that was met with lots
of laughter as well)
Any idea what the bolted plates on the sides are ... dont think
I've seen them on one before

Bulkhead, is pretty much not there any more, although a repaired
one will be coming sometime soon from Parksy - so much so the
steering column has rotted through - never seen that before

Not sure when im going to get to it yet - this or the diesel S2
first, this is probably easier/cheaper, but the s2 is already in
bits and I've had it 3 yrs :-?
I think it may be possible to save the original paint, the 3
layers on top come of quite easily. Problem with that is what to
do with the truck cab and bulkhead as they wont match.
Its modifications (indicators, mud flaps, extra gauges) will
stay, its had them since the early 70's at the latest - most
were I guess done early in its life, and there are plenty of as
new S1's out there

mine started far worse than this well worth doing im having good

Good to see it in its new surroundings :thumbs:
I wondered if the louvres on the truck cab were added to cover
trafficator holes?
Do I spots some goodies for me on the seat box? :smilewide:

Ive got a bulkhead like that. Sure its worth saving. Hope it
goes well.

windscreen mounts if needed

It will be getting covered up - probably one of those party
tents - seems to work for fixing the stage 1
And yes, some presents for you there
