This was from a post office series 2A I was told, used in the
Highlands. The mechanic who used to service them had it lying
about his garage. Is it a genuine 203.
It currently sports a michelin 9.00X and weighs eleventy tons.

Drummy Thanks
That is a JenUwine 203. Only the tyre is the killer. Without it,
Offer stands. With it, I can't move it, I'm in Beds, and I
assuem you're up Norf.
Please don't jump to any conclusions by my putting this
question: 'Were all leafer LR rims pressed from the same gauge
steel irrespective of width?'
Bert
I doubt it?! Bound to be differnt. In fact I would be surprised
if any two were the same!
The thought has occured to me, and for that reason, amongst
others, I have it that 'deepset' is bollox, and far from
correct, It only works for us. You likley could not use it for
a RR Rostyle rim for example, (no flat surface to use as a
datum). So to use it to comapre other rims to ours is a fail
before we start. Also it assumes that all rims are the same
thickness at that point, which they most likely are not, but if
one rim is say 1mm in guage thicker at the part number face over
another, why worry? For our purpsoes, they are all one guage.
'Deepset' is far from technically correct, even the term is a
fiction. Yes, you spotted it, it's bollox in fair quantity!

[s]3. The 130 Wheel Rim. Part Number ANR1534 6.5J: Tubeless.
[Deepset measures: 78mm[/s]
bob86: You're now the second person today that has told me 72mm.
My memory did fail me, as i suspected. 78mm is crap. Consider me
shot down.
But it does furhter debunk that ANR1534 is a real and proper
569204 metric equivelnat. ie the same deepset.
As for it being tubeless, I can't see how it can be? That is why
I was asking for tyre well shots of thsi rim. i still don't see
how this 'tubeless' rim can be airtight. There must be another
version, or there's a crush washer to act as a seal at the
joint. Thats fails to be plausable for me, or I'm wrong, it is
not a tubeless rim?

Fuckwit, I acknowledge your offer but this is ollr and in my
brief membership of this forum I have observed the ollr spirit
of non-profiteering. A refreshing sight it has been too. If I
was to sell you this rim for £70 when it only cost me £12 I
would be breaking the unwritten code that makes this forum
better than the rest.
Despite your 'special' ways, I would argue that you have put
some cement round the shoogly nail on which your ollr coat hangs
and would therefore make you a counter offer thusly -
I will send you the rim if you send me something that will help
me with my 1964 88" and 1968 109" rebuilds.
Do you have any of the following in rough but working order?
radiator
wiper motors
S2 door hinges
door tops
rear tub panels
tilt (any condition)
tilt sticks (especially the over the door pieces)
2A indicator stalk
antiluce fasteners
lots of other things
If you do have any of the above and value it more than my rusty
brown rim I would be happy to negotiate the addition of some
folding.

No, no, no! I was NOT trying to catch you out in any way Mr
Fuckwit when I asked if all series rims were pressed
(rolled/manufactured/made/etc) from the same gauge steel.
I am of an age where I can recall there not being such a thing
as an alloy wheel. If you wanted wide steel wheels you made your
own. It was called-in my circle-banding.
Now it seems to me that putting wide rims on fairly ordinary LRs
is all about the look. It certainly isn't about originality is
it? ' Cos most of them would have had bog standard rims.
What I was aiming at is if original wide rims are indeed worth
the gold that has been mentioned in your thread then the time
has come for those who are capable to look at banding again.
The specific/key piece of info lies in whether or not the outer
(rolled) piece of the rim is much the same gauge on a narrow
wheel as on a wide wheel. I am not in a position to judge this
as all I have to hand are narrow ones and standard LWB ones.
Obviously this post is not intended to inspire chicken shit
welders!
Bert

Great Tread
My 2a still has her original 2a rims and I have another set on
my 88". I have seen far more 543384 rims over the years for sale
than 569203's or 204's. In recent years the flood of 130 rims
has confused most people into thinking they were buying FC rims.
It's great to see this guide to help everyone buy the correct
rims. I'm amazed how many people seam to have 203's. I've been
looking for a set for years and so far only have 2. Want the set
for my 2a FC to widen the track a little further.

The top picture was taken the day after it fell over. Straight
back to work with a few dents.
