       Swing Away Tire Carriers

I have been researching swing away tires carriers and narrowed
it down to two. The two are the Mantec and the Paddocks. The
Paddocks is WAY cheaper. Do any of you guys have experience with
either? Is there another brand I am missing? Thanks a bunch.

Ideally, you should find one that swings both ways.

Seeing as you are across the Pond, might it be an idea to have
one hinged on the left, to provide a "safety fence" for
passengers, to prevent them walking into traffic? (Thinking of
younger ones) Your door obviously hinges on the right (Bad
planning for LR back in the day) and offers an obstacle....
therefore the length of the carrier involved would make it
longer, and more to walk around, you might want to think about
       that...

The paddock one (if I am thinking of the same one) doesnt hinge
with the door but needs to be opened first via a catch and then
       you open the door.
Bit of an arse if you carry people or kit alot. The it also
tends to swing out with more force and the door doesnt slow it
       down :banghead
Personally if I had the choice (or cash) I would get the mantec
version which hinges with the door and is much more robust and
       better constructed.
If you have just a drop down tailgate then it wont make as much
       difference :smilewide:

I'd have one of these if they fitted to a series
...................... if I was feeling extreme!

I have the Paddocks one fitted to the back of the boingy one.I
like it well made and works well.I would put a picture up but it
would end up in the fail bin so quick you would get whiplash
       looking for it.

Make sure you order a large dildo and a strong spring to go with
it, bend over in rear tub and mule kick the carrier open.
Seriously, I had one, i never fitted it, it looked shit, I sold
       it.

Do the dildos cost extra? Damn.... Now I guess I also have to
choose between powder coated and galvanized dildos. This tyre
       carrier is getting more complicated.

Don't forget to choose the right sort of lube, unless you are in
       to EDB (Extreme dry bumming.).
