A long shot maybe but if anyone has a seatbox going begging from
a 2a six cylinder the battery was factory fitted under the
passenger seat. Anything 4 cylinder with factory fitted split
charging also had the additional battery under the passenger
seat. I've not used either YRM or bits4landys however my
personal opinion is the factory used a heavy duty steel
undertray for a reason. The bits4landys product looks the mutts
danglies to me.

What is the slopey bit for on the under seat box? I presume it
is to provide clearance for something but can't see what it is
for? only thing i can think is that it is to fit around the
handbrake mechanism on a left hand drive model??
I am planning on making a double battery tray for mine (as i am
a tight arsed yorkshireman with 4 kids who can eat a weeks worth
of food in 1 day mainly) and was wondering if i can do away with
this slopey bit to make it easier to build.

The angled piece is there to clear the chassis rail. It took me
about 1/2 hour to make one for Lozza on Saturday out of 2mm gash
steel that I had around. Cut using my shear, folded using two
pieces of heavy angle in the vice and a hammer, then welded the
seams. Cut the relevant sized hole in the bottom of the seat
box, then rivetted it in place with a tigerseal joint between.
Sealed the joints underneath and then gave it a liberal coating
of spray waxoyl.

An empty fuel tank with the lid cut off does a pretty good job
as a battery/fluid container box.
PO put one on KEN just for that purpose.

Fine if you have the extra outriggers to mount it off...... A
lot of work without.
