Abbeydale industrial hamlet end of season weekend.. Usually
worth a look in. as things actually happen there on teh open
days & it seems to be a magnet for traction engines
The place needs as much support as possible

Quickly called in on my way back from the Peaks. Buxworth was
disappointingly quiet, but I passed Abbeydale at about 5pm and
there were a few interesting engines to spot. I'll post a few
pics in a bit

Heard Buxworth was very boozy!
Is that massive Aveling roller "Leviathan" still at Abbeydale?
A monster but my god has it got some grunt, sounds the dog's
bollocks as well.
There is/was a very lovely old Fowler traction engine there too
in her working clothes.

To my knowledge they do not have any traction engines stored at
the hamlet, they come in for open days & suchlike
many moons ago you would see the odd full sized traction engine
over the road at the miniature railway too ( again on the open
days )

now i do think they keep some there - 2 infact with khellam
island haulage company livery & one of them was indeed a beast
of a foden!

Leviathan is kept at the hamlet and so is a Fowler road loco
7NHP cannot think of the name. The fowler your thinking of kev
was a austrailian import owned by Andrew Biglands. Had some
lagging plates fitted now and tarted up.
