Anyone recognize this air filter?

Hi guys,
I'm trying to find out what air filter has been used on my 'new'
toy.
The engine is a straight 6 Diesel, from an early VW LT van, and
I was hoping the air filter was from the same van.
I've asked on a VW LT forum, but no-one there seems to recognize
it, so I'm stabbing in the dark now :stars

The smaller filter goes into the housing first, and is clamped
down with a wing nut on the centre threaded rod.
The larger filter goes over the smaller one, and is again
secured by a wing nut.
The pic shows the top of the filter as well.
Anyone got any ideas?

Whatever it's from it's beefy! 2 stage filtration as well, is it
off a lorry or a tractor?

Someone from t'other forum (S2C) has replied saying he also
thinks it's a two stage plant filter, perhaps from a digger or
something.
I suppose it's from whatever the previous owner had access to -
I wouldn't have thought it was neccessary or cost-effective to
go to those lengths of filtration unless he had access to
cheap/free elements ;).
I'm now wondering whether to replace it with a spare Disco
200TDi filter I've got - at least it will be easier (and
probably cheaper!) to get elements for that 8)

I saw something similar on top of an old dump truck, seemed to
be pretty darned effective too

Ive seen a similar one on an old JCB, not sure it had the
knurled knob on the casing though, but was the same idea..

If you have a 200tdi one available I would suggest you use it.
This filter looks like it is A) for something much bigger and/or
B) something working in very dusty environments.

I've seen a couple like that also when I use to called in to see
my mate who was a plant mechanic, I think you may get one from
Kings on Effingham street in Rotherham if your local........

We have them on our Fork-Trucks at work to cope with the MDF
dust in the factory.
They can collect shit.
