Angus

Angus is a 1982 SWB 2.25P truck-cab that we bought nearly a year
ago. There was a lot of documentation and it seems the PO was
effectively partway through a chequebook restoration. The last
few MOT's were advisories only but I did find some penetrating
rust in many of the usual places in the bulkhead, so a bulkhead
replacement seemed like a good idea at the time. I got a lot of
good advice re that from the original forum. Right now, Angus is
in pieces and a shiny Ashtree BH and rad panel are going in, so
he's not at his most photogenic. However, here's one I did
earlier, in Naden Valley:

In a flurry of syllepsis, Angus has at last emerged from
desuetude and the garage, after just over a year.
On the old forum I had asked what might be prudent to do while
changing the bulkhead and got some very welcome advice. As it
happened, we didn't find very many nasty surprises -- a few
.22LR cases and a dead credit card notwithstanding -- but
tweaked as we went. Hence, galvy rad-panel, bulkhead supports
and sills (the old ones blasted/galvied/recycled), master
cylinders replaced (old ones cleaned and in a box ready for
refurb if the new ones die), replaced the heater cables, blasted
and powder-coated anything not nailed down and rewired
throughout. Next job is to wire up the windscreens, put lights
etc on relays and (probably) swap indicators for LED's, if I can
find any that don't look horrible.
And, as of today, we have MOT. :smilewide:
To those that helped: thanks!
V. Chuffed,
Rochdale.
