lovely engines in thier day, i got the opportunity to fire one
of those up on the floor, sounded great but was a bit cautious
of blipping the throttle too much

Might be a little front heavy / prone to oversteer with that in
Loz!
In other news, the V5 has arrived for the Stagey. I officially
own it now! ;D

Stagey has been doing a few miles and everything is bedding in
after being off the road since 1990....
Faults so far:
PO stripped spark plug thread. Found 1 week before LATP.
Resulted in an emergency head swap from an old engine with help
from Nuggett. Nice run to and from LATP though.
Unloaded after LATP and springs never recovered. New GB springs
fitted to rear with Rocky Mountain steel shrouded Procomp ES9000
shocks. Now goes round corners well too!
Small wiring fire earlier this month on way back from pub late
at night, as heater control cable had rubbed main live feed to
ignition switch. Brown trouser moment, but was fixed at roadside
in a few minutes. Now have a battery isolator and fire
extinguisher fitted. :eek:
Overdrive fitted for a little extra cruising speed.
Box built in rear to house a big leisure battery with split
charge and 3 x 12v outlets.
Roof rack fitted.
Engine still needs a little tuning and I have some wider offset
wheels and tyres to fit at some point. Otherwise it is running
pretty well. :smilewide:
Off down to Sodbury on Sunday in it to flog some tat rare and
hard to find bits.
Long term plan is to partially camper convert it for weekends
away and overnight stops when Euroleafing.
Will get some piccies up over the weekend.

I thought the old sodbury sortouts had stopped? At least thats
what I gathered from Mr Shakespeare (organiser of loads of
vintage/steam rallys) is that chap who used to run them had been
suffered a decline in health...
I could be barking up a completely different tree though.
