Not much to go on but this photo was on eBay and is said to have
been taken in Ossett. I guess just after the war going by the
state of the engine and the general 'feel' of the pic?

It's a 5 ton Robey tractor and if I can work out where it might
be there's a chance of identifying it by going through the
records :girly: I wondered if it is in a scrapyard as there
looks like cars in the background? Any locals any ideas? I doubt
       it but you never know.

Could be anywhere in the parish. There's a lot of those brick
terrace houses about the place and there's no distiguishing
features on the horizon, such as a church spire or the Town
       Hall.
Buy the original pic and then let's have a look. :)

^WHS but the only place I can think of with a scrap yard (no
longer there) with a terrace like that would be down Healey
Road. The terrace would look back onto the yard like that too.
On the left hand side going down Healey Road and before you get
to the A Plant yard where IIRC Dave, Mark Yellow et al broke a
109" about 4-5 years back. There is an old brick building on the
site still I think where a chap used to do various engineering
work. Reground some L-R drums for me once, years ago.
       :-?

Cheers chaps. Unfortunately the ebay auction ended back in June
:lousyputer: I found it under completed listings. I'll see what
       I can dig up!

Grid reference here of that yard, Kev for google maps cut and
paste. You can see the row of houses next to Healey Road...The
other house on the right hand side doesn't seem to fit as it
would be in the corner of the field. Could have been demolished
       I suppose.
