My first Landrover and Ive never made a thread about it!.

I bought this Landrover about 4 years ago as a wreck, When I
first moved to NZ.
It had a very poorly fitted Nissan LD 28 which ran like a bag of
shit. A knackerd gearbox which did its own thing, And axles
filled with grease, to stop oil leaks, like. It did however have
a very good bulkhead and chassis, Although the chassis was cut
about to suit the Nissan LD.
I picked up a bargain locally, Another '70 SWB 2.25 petrol beach
hack, with good mechanicals, But rotten chassis and bulkhead due
to salt water. So the plan would be to swap out/rebuild the worn
out axles, Gearbox and the Nissan LD, With the beach hacks good
petrol motor, axles, gearbox, ect ect...
The photos from the time will tell you more than I can by
typing;

In the above you can just about make out the weld, to put back
in the front cross member.

The Bearmach overdrive was bought from the Huddersfield
landrover centre, I brought it here in my (WAAAAAAY overweight)
suitcase!.
I repainted the whole lot, Chassis, axles ect ect. The body I
sprayed in a Lime green with Limestone roof and wheels. Once it
was finnished I still had to learn how to drive, So whats better
than learning to drive in a landrover you built?!.

The gay roof lights soon went and the roo-bars fell to bits from
salt water corrosion.
That was all 4 years ago and (touch wood) since then its been a
good motor, Ive really put it through its paces, too. Just
recently Ive had to replace the head gasket, which was shortly
followed by a broken rear axle.
