Lots of people seem to be sealing the original tank up with the
       POR products

My first replacement tank was BM and fitted straight in. The
replacement after our accident was BP and I had a right game
       fitting it.

I'd seal an expensive tank up with por-15 but when it cost nigh
       on £50 anyway I wouldn't bother unless you're buying the por-15
in bulk and are doing more than just one tank.
       I did a mil tank with por-15, but that's because they are £135 +
each, dont think i woild bother wih a normal civi underseat one,
but hey it's your money, make your decisions and pay your
       choices!

Fitted a Britpart one to mine over a year ago, still no leaks or
owt but was a bit of a swine to fit as the two of the bolt holes
didn't line up. Quickly sorted it out by re drilling them ::).
This is how I did mine

Now ordered c/w gaskets and dispatched about 4pm this afternoon
so should be back on the road by weekend. Actually there's nowt
stopping me driving it now really as the leak isn't exactly
pissing out. I'll run a few jobs first so there's less to drain
out when I come to drop the tank. It's only about a quarter full
       anyway.

Fitted a few britpart ones and no problems so far...
Ive overcome the mil issue by cutting the tops out of rotten mil
tanks and welding on to a cheapo £50 jobby, no problems there
       either.

Having fitted two front fill fuel tanks over the last month as
well as dropping both ambulance tanks in the states I can't say
it's noticeably quicker without the hoses. I get the trolley
jack under the tank, lift it up and with some lube SH><. on
the pipe connections I work them on as I jack the tank into
position. It's easy doing it that way and an absolute arse if
you try and do it afterwards. I had a new Britpart tank from a
while ago and that has been OK. I bought another recently from
Paddocks, that isn't Britpart as they appear to be going to an
even shoddier outfit now for steel parts (I refer to my post
about the shitty body mount outrigger with no mounting tabs or
end plate, the Britpart one I got from Famous Four was far
superior :o) although the tank seems OK. I fired a thick coat
of 3M schutz type stuff on both of them.

it must be the season of fuel tanks just went to mine this
morning and a big puddle of precious diesel lays underneath
looks like a new tank will be ordered tommorow.
