Tight Spring Shackles

How on earth do you get the front sping shackles off, mine are
tight as chuff and stand straight up instead of hanging to the
rear (ooerr missus) thus preventing me from fitting the shock
absorbers, i/ve tried swinging on the bolts to no avail, and yes
i have removed the lock nuts...any ideas before i attack them
with the club hammer :smilewide:

I'm pretty sure that one side of the shackle (the long sided
one) is threaded.
If the bolt is seized in to the spring bush you're fucked.
Better break out the angle grinder......

LONG breaker bar & a suitably deep pit to swing it in or break
out the grinder
as stated before don't forget the shackles are threaded

Lots of plus gas, breaker bar with extension bar supported by
lump of wood and fat bloke to jump up and down on said breaker
bar

Silly question, but have you removed the lock nut off the
threaded shackle?

If you have the time marinate in plus gas or similar for a few
days. Often works wonders!

took mine off my new chassis and one of the chassis bushes
started to come out with it making it a right bitch, undid it as
much as i could the had to get the angle grinder and cut it off,
will have to get some heat on it now and melt the bush out then
bray the outer sleeve out :banghead.

I had the same problem, I put a hydraulic puller around the
front spring bolt and tried to force it out, it went bang a few
times and moved a few mil, but I soon realised I was on a loser.
When I had the same with the rear I Just cut the things off,
