Rear Halfshaft

Last saturday the right handside rear halfshaft on my 109 2A
broke,and at this moment a big thankyou has to go to Bigchris
who has lent me his halfshaft from his project to keep me
mobile.So a genuine new 10 spline halfshaft is ordered from
Brit-car at £66, only to recive an e-mail telling me that they
are now obselete from Land Rover and now no longer available and
now is only available as an aftermarket part and at less than
£13 we can all guess who's the supplier is going to be :banghead

Pretty sure i have a set of genuine LR rear halfshafts sat in
the shed if you don't what shitpart. pretty sure that its in
decent nick too!

Thanks for the offer Stiefbear but i have already ordered the
halfshaft. .5988 that was also Bigchris's idea and it's a good
idea at that.I did consider swopping the back axle for a
salisbury but i need the time to move my 2.6 rebuild on,plus i
like the simpler bolt off bolt on nature of the rover diffs on a
rover axle.I did try Paddocks,Craddocks and Land Rover Series
and they only list cheep and cheerful with only Land Rover
Series listing supplier that being
Britpart/Bearmach,Rimmerbrothers do list the halfshaft as being
genuine Land Rover but is out of stock and on back order which i
am summising was the case with Brit-car.
