A bridge over (No not the river Kwai) the small stream that used
to carry the Cromford and high peak down to Bugsworth basin for
further transhipment .
On the way back i used a small shortcut that i have driven many
times before and never noticed it was called "Landy pit lane"
....Fnarrr fnarrr But wheels started to turn in my brain and
further on i spotted this place

Bit of a likely looking place i thought ...then spotted the name
plate on the gate ..."The old engine house"
Turns out theres a good bit of history on Lady pit and some of
the others in the local area

Ooooh yes! It's very histrionic is Whaley. The Cromford and High
Peak railway terminated at the building that is now listed and
was the transhipment building for goods between canal and
railway. The iron bridge in your picture was at the foot of
Shallcross incline. The C & HP railway is crossed by many
greenlanes between Whaley and Cromford and many of the inclined
planes on the route can be still be seen.
