After a lot of :banghead I found, stripped and refurbished an
old (or several different parts of dead or dying dashes), made
my brain ache with a little rewiring and reassembled to rid the
Landy of the unique item that was there before.

Well done! Looks like one of those jobs that opens a can of
worms. I have to take mine apart to sort out the heater and
windscreen demister pipe work. I have been putting it off for
some time but it is the next job on the list.

now i,am not a huge fan of the plastic dash but that is far far
better than the hiddious monstrosity it replaced :thumbs:

Not worth me putting the old one on the for sale section then?
Hi Warrick, yes, indeed it was, as the previous owner had also
cut down the steering column by two inches ( didn't notice until
I was rebuilding, obviously), so I ended up removing the old
column/box and rebuilding a used unit. Great fun if you're
expecting it. Complete bugger when you're not and haven't got
the little puller tool that saves stripping the front wing off!

No it isn't some botty basher may purchase it off of you on the
bay of fleas, but the best thing would be to weigh it in!

Isn't that a series 2 column? I'm sure the series 2 column is a
little shorter than the series 3 column - by about 2" IIRC
Anyway good stuff you've done there, have the same problem
myself albeit with a Lightweight, some mong decided that some
RRC clocks over the steering column would look good :loser:
