Microcars - again

Over at a mates place in Germany, and he has made some progress
with his micro car museum - now containg mostly Messerschmitts
now. The blue microcar was featured on Top Gear a few years ago
when Clarkson drove it up a flight of stairs.

This was ours which we restored when Patrick was 16 so he could
get to college & back :)
As collected:

We've just sold it as it was just sitting in the garage unused
since Patrick got his SWB.
It's gone to a collector in Bournmouth who intends towing it
behind his LR to shows, so if anyone goes to the big steam
fairs, you might see it there ;D

My mate has a Bond. Not to be confused with a Bond bug though.
They were made in Preston and had a Villiers motorbike engine on
the atriculating arm carrying the front wheel steering. Look 'em
up ont tinterweb.
They were made in Preston and had a Villiers motorbike
engine
I was involved with them as a teen, I remember opening the
bonnet and sticking a leg in to kick-start the early one.
A mate had a later one that had the starter motor wired so that
the engine could be started backwards for reverse gear.... not
allowed when on a motorbike license..... He painted the whole
thing by hand in metallic blue...using hundreds of the little
cans of humbrol paint!
