Looks like a kettle fest to me not a bellowworthy engine in
sight. [Sniff]
With the number of saddle tanks it could be mistaken for a
Thomas the Tank Engine Day :haha:

All this said it looks like an interesting place are you
leaving at 4am Saturday to attend the early morning photo shoot?

No insects, neds, or fat southern kidswith B.O. ;D
Just kwality industrial steam in as near an authentic setting as
you'll get today.
There were 6 locos in steam on both passenger trains and coal
wagons. I rode on some of the passenger trains but concentrated
on the coal trains for piccies.

No.2 an 0-4-0ST. Built at Bagnall's Castle Works, Stafford for
the Kent Electric Power Company at Littlebrook Power Station,
near Dartford. This is the same one as in my thread about the
Middleton Railway gala.

UGLY, a Robert Stephenson & Hawthorns 0-6-0ST built for Stewarts
& Lloyds Minerals to work ironstone trains in Northamptonshire.

Wimblebury, another Austerity tank. It was delivered new in 1956
to the National Coal Board at Cannock Wood Colliery near
Hednesford in Staffordshire and worked there until withdrawn in
the early 1970s.

One of 484 locomotives built to the Austerity design hurriedly
developed during World War 2, Whiston was in fact built for the
NCB by the Hunslet Engine Co of Leeds and worked at various
collieries in the St. Helens area.

Bellerophon was built in 1874 by the Haydock Foundry, to the
design of Josiah Evans, son of Richard Evans who owned the
Haydock Collieries which were to become Lancashire's largest
privately owned mining and related engineering concern.

Crane tank loco built by Dubs and Co of Glasgow in 1901 and
delivered to the Shelton Iron & Steel Works in Stoke-on-Trent.

Florence No.2. Another Bagnall loco, built for the NCB and
worked at Florence Colliery, near Stoke on Trent.

Bellerophon was at the Middleton Railway in Leeds in the early
80's it did not look quite as spruce as that though. :thumbs:
I suspect that the neds, poltroons and insects would have been
out numbered by pipe smoking NHS spectacle wearing Gricers at
this event ;D
