Designa Chassis

Okay, apart from Richards there only appears to be Designa who
offer / make series std leafsprung chassis is this correct cos
I'm thinking ahead a wee bit

Designa build those gay chassis though. Why would you want
something built by the kind of people who soil their hands with
gaysexual motors? Just buy one from Richards in the knowlede
it'll be right and proper.

Okay, okay but apparently they supply proper hetro ones too Dave
(hopefully bum aids free after the galvinification process).

The Designa chassis are made VERY locally to me. Also, Richards
are made locally to me. The guy from Designa drives a 110. The
guys at Richards drive classic Triumphs and have some VERY
interesting classic vehicles in the pipeline. Buy the Richards.
Seriously.
Some 20 odd years ago, a friend of mine had his REALLY late 88
rechassised onto coils, with a Toyota "B" diesel !!!!!! (due to
off road damage, apparently..... bent the front axle, impacted
the transfer case, holed the sump and fucked the crank.......and
bent the chassis) by "Arrow Services" who became Designa. They
advertised it on their pages in LRO etc, but it was me that
painted it, it was me that made it look the way it did, and also
me that made it work properly after they had summarily bodged it
to within an inch of it's life.) I sent them a letter (remember
them?) to ask them for a slice of the profits, seeing as they
were advertising my work....... they pulled the photo from the
advert....... Since then, unless I absolutely HAVE to go , I
avoid contact.

Richards at Swinton is about ten min from me Paul so if you do
buy one I'm more than happy to pick it up for you. I've got a
trailer I can stick it on or I'll borrow one from the farm.

I got the same feeling before from Richards Chassis that there
was a bit of animosity between them. HOWEVER when I rang up the
other day asking about a new chassis for the Lightweight the
words came back "It might be worth while talking to Designa
Chassis" :eek:
I'm very happy with the service and the chassis I got from them
for the 109" and I know of a few people who can say the same,
but I seem to recall that young Adam had nothing but trouble
from Richards?

Word on the street is that Marslands WILL still make you a
series but don't do them as a stock item ????

Adam did have a little trouble with his chassis yes, but it was
down to his inexperience at knowing his rights, and the method
of registering a complaint, where the issue reared it's head. I
might be wrong, but I think he told other people about it first,
but made it public, BEFORE getting Richards involved, which put
it beyond the realms of them sorting it our correctly. Again,
like I say, I might be wrong. He had also had it a fair while
prior to fitting it. Maltelec did a similar thing, but I managed
to salvage that issue for him, thanks to the help of the
Webmaster and mods on S2C.

I bought a richards chassis last year and every thing fit first
time no fucking about having to tap stuff out. You get what you
pay for.
