       2286/2495 timing gears etc.

Well. We all know that chains wear, and belts snap. In my case,
I heard it growling a bit, some years ago. This weekend I saw
fit to replace the chain. Wish I never bothered like. It pissed
it down. No it FUCKING pissed it down. Anyhoo. I got it in bits
       to discover this.

It's the tensioner guide roller/sprocket etc.
It should look similar to this.

I used a different one to this BTW....
       Here's the two together.

The chain was also kenked, and the tensioner was a little
sloppy. Timing it up was a bind, as someone had thoughtfully
used the cam sprocket for marking, but not the block as I could
see it. I guess they used a bolt hole.... And then I discovered,
due to the cam "timing", the injection pump drive was also
incorrectly timed. Good job I had my "Twisted Performance" pump
drive..... (Oxy-Acetylene at point blank range, and then bunged
in a vice and advanced anti-clockwise.) The replacement chain
(Courtesy the Tigers) is a bloody heavy, fat, super duty
thing.... Great! It has new noises, but it runs.. Meh.
Oh yeah, with finding the wheel in a "smooth as a baby's arse"
situation, I decided to drop the sump. It was full of aluminium
swarf/shite. Fuckng great having a swarf magnet eh???!!! So that
got wiped out. I even changed the bastard oil! Nearly 7 litres
       of 15/W40! Bloody thing.

       Shut up wingeing ....
least the fekker didn't snap resulting in a BYT JUST when it was
most inconvenient ....AND mine dropped bits of chain into the
bloody sump too just for good measure .
Still not sorted due to works on Zeb and anti Scrote barrier
       making
       meh!!!!!
       ;D

So looking at this, do i need to pull the timing case of my VERY
late 5 bearing 2 and a quarter and inspect for wear?

Diesel, do it without delay, petrol, I would wait for ruggadugga
noises from the chsin area. Unless you just fee like getting
       oily. Mine's a diseasel.
