11" brakes

Right i have the backplates, hubs and drums to fit the 11"
brakes to my series 2 front axle. Can i screw the brake pipe
flexi straight into the brake cylinders like my current one or
not.........
Any other pitfalls i should be aware of??

depends on the fitting on the brake cylinder as to whether or
not thats a safe thing to do (I cant remember what the 11"
cylinders are like)

I fitted 11" to mine six or so years ago so relying on memory
here! The inter cyl bridge pipe is bloody tight so enter the
unions before securing cyl to backplate. Flexy needs to go to
bottom cyl to facilitate decent bleeding. Some recommend
rotating the backplate by 90' to make thing easier-I didn't and
it wasn't.

I had the cylinders top and bottom on mine but have just moved
them round a hole to be more 8 and 2ish. I found the pipes in
the bottom cylinder caught in all the shit when in ruts.

I have done this to mine. The only problem i had was with the
bleeding the brakes other than that its very simples

Yeah did this today and the bottom connecting pipe is up against
the bottom pin housing , bent it slightly but it seems ok. bled
it in about ten mins, was easy! so much more braking power now!
yeah i may move them a hole round as well........ :thumbs:
