Great story showing its varied history and facelifts. Glad to
see shes still in use.

Lakes thats probably why your story grabbed me.
Keep it up and keep her running.

I love this motor - the fact it's been through so much and still
stands the test of time. The effort that went into building it
and the engine must be an absolute pleasure 8)

Well as posted in the Tech section the engine has it's foibles.
??? ???
I have to admit in the flesh you realise it's been through a lot
as it's hardly a minter but it soldiers on. 8)
New rear parabolics and stiffer shocks all round are going on
this week. The shocks that are on would be spot on for
hillrallies but getting a bit soft.

Well I can confirm it's now a lot less soggy that it used to be!
Bloody thing is stiff as Munkie at a Cowboy festival now. Few
more bits to do and it'll be out for a "shakedown" as used in
motorsport speak apparently. 8)

It's been sat for sometime in the garage just with the odd fire
up and warm through.
But in the next few weeks it'll be out and getting a good check
over.
Just hope nothing big lets go engine wise and we'll be sorted.
(I must start sorting out a spare 5 bearing 4pot petrol)
Just thrown an entry into the Lake Disctrict Classic Rally on
the 16th of July. There maybe a few more events after that too.

Some topping up of fluids (the overdrive doesn't appear to need
any after 5 months of being sat....will see how it is after a
few miles) and a general check over and out and about the old
girl has been. :smile1 In fact over the fells in a
thunerstorm! Was lovely and warm and dry in there...just LOUD!!!
Apologies just phone pictograms.

At the request of a chap on here some rough pics of the anti
tramp shock on the back that replaced the now banned bar
arrangement. (Can you tell I may have overfilled the axle
slightly......) and yes will be sorting that brake pipe out now
it's back out of storage!

Entry accepted amongst one hell of a collection of historic
rally machinery for the Lake District Classic. Going to be a
high mileage event for me (hopefully!). It includes timed to the
second Regularity on the quiet public roads around the Eden
Valley / Penrith area. Could be interesting on an original
series odometer....
Provisional and Unseeded entry list (they'll be more than this
by the time entry closes)

Superb thread and what a great story. Most would have given up
on an accident like that.
