Cheers gents, the thought police (MSA) have a downer on oddball
colour schemes for historic events and this motor had to be
slightly historic rally compliant even if its not spot on. I
have no idea why they get hung up over paint jobs!
I've heard of public complaining about noise or speed of rally
but never the colour schemes!

Have a scroll down... :o
Translated it would seem to say:
In Great Britain, who has no dog hunting cat, that is to say who
does not have a rally car, use a .... LAND ROVER
Very Odd.

Great News! (No it's not a new Dacia Sombreo)
The lure of the classic rallying is just to great to resist.
It's taxed and back on the road. Although I'm just doing a few
improvements:
After smacking a big hole on last years Solway Rally and the
front did not handle it as well as I expected. I suspected the
front shocks had done a few to many events. Sure enough they're
not knackered but starting to "slip" a touch and seem a bit too
soft.
Some nearly new (only did 2 trials) Monroe's are now on and
things already feel better even when it's parked up. Just need
to sort the back out with something more suitable for rallying
rather than hillrallying.
Absolutely love working on this thing. Check out the bottom
shock mounts: Instead of the silly split pin and shim
arrangement there's a large threaded stud that used a necked
down nut that is 1"1/8.
So you undo the wheels and use the same tool to undo the bottom
shock mount.
Took no time to swap. Why didn't Land Rover make it like this?
Poor phone pics:

Anyway plan is to do a few events this year. 8)
