In its current state: 1972 RHD on galvanised chassis with
currently a 2.5NA which is a bit tired!
Fortunately Toby and Nat, followed by other OLLR friends offered
me their kind help and time to fit a 200TDI during the coming
Eastern weekend :)

The time of year when us crazy English people eat chocolate eggs
and fit 200 TDis is called Easter!! Although, as the weekend is
mainly happening in the East, I guess it could be called Eastern
too. ;D

drivingside door is totally rotten. Got a new one allready, but
still deciding on the paint (really thinking of DBG, the
original colour for this car)

Interior bit scruffy, and loads of wiring...a new loom probably
is the best solution. Can anybody tell me if the top of the
dashboard is original for a '72? Also it's fitted with a
starting button, probably not original?

A new (to me) 2.5N/A from an inferior donor vehicle. Pickup at
Alwaysseries 2 is scheduled for May 16

Rog 176" found me a long desired new tilt, now I have to find
some sticks to fit!

So what's next?
Well, if things work out the way I planned I have a shed at the
end of may to start some serious spannering on the 109;
- Engine swop, incl clutch, new exhaust etc....thinking of a new
gearbox also, but haven't found one yet
- new loom while I'm at it
- Possible respray in DBG, de-silverizing al the galvanised
parts
- fitting new doors and the softtop (If I've found a stick set
for a full tilt by then)
I hope she'll be rideable at the end of July as I would really
like to come over to EOD!
As the rebuild begins, pics will folow!

with a friendly local mechanic. I needed to because the 109 was
braking badly: no 'power' brake, steering badly to the right
when braking etc.
Turned out that on the front only one cylinder was working
properly, two had locked up and one was leaking. So we changed
all four cylinders on the front, changed the brakelines up front
and fitted new shoes.
Now the braking is better than before!
