Well, Iceoidintonely, I'll see your bog standard 12t vent van
and raise you a Vanwide. :smilewide:
In the hills above Mytholmroyd today.

And in the next field a burnt out 12t vent. :(

[nasal anorak voice]Vanwide was the British Railways code for a
then new type of van with double sliding doors to give a wider
entrance in order to be able to carry palletised loads[/nasal

Ok, I have been reading this thread with in interest and now I
have to ask what could be a stupid question.
How were the body's transported from the railway to the resting
       place?

I reckon that would be the only way. But then the truck could
only get so far with some of the more remote ones, such as those
next to the Coach Road in Cumbria. The farmers must have moved
them there by tractor and trailer, I guess.
Or series Land Rovers coupled up in pairs to a farm trailer in
some kind of scaled down heavy haulage rig? ;D

Fuck knows how they got the one along the Old Coach Road that's
half way up the side of a fell in place... :o Lots of rope and
about 4000 slaves like the Egyptians did when they were dragging
the stones along to fire them pyramids up I reckon! ;D
