A couple in a yard in Ashbourne, they look pretty heavy duty, &
have been made into some sort of workshop/store.

I was wrong about these being ex-Midland Railway. According to
the GVB spotting book they are ex-Caledonian Railway. Mega rare,
I expect and very old. Since the CR ceased to exist in 1923
they're at least 90 years old but are probably much older than
       that.

Wherabouts are those, Ian? Both ex- Southern Railway, or BR
       Southern Region, BTW.

GVB anorak fact - some of those Southern vans were also built by
       the LMS railway during 1942.
       Yesterday's spot.

British Railways type BD container, built 1958 at St. Rollox
works, Glasgow. In a field next to the A168, near Thirsk.
What it would have looked like in service and on a Conflat
       wagon.

Today, in a field near Upper Denby.
Ex-LMS (London, Midland & Scottish Railway) ventilated van,
       probably from the 1940s.
