Can't make 29th July, otherwise any Aug or Sep Sunday. May be a
third Son of Chippers, depending on final date.
thanks Ian.

Sundays that are good for us are:
Aug 12th, Aug 26th, Sept 2nd, Sep 16th, Sep 23rd
It would be brilliant if one of the dates could be "the" date -
I'd hate to miss this.

I was thinking more along the lines of The Briton's Protection
HTML http://www.manchesterbars.com/britonsprotection.htm
which was
also Ian Curtiss - of Joy Division fame, local...... or the
Peveril of the Peak

OK then - how about the New Oxford or Crescent - but both are
out in Salford, although easily walkable from the city centre.

I'm leaning towards .....
The Britons protection Castlefield
HTML http://www.beerintheevening.com/pubs/s/11/1127/Britons_Protection_Hotel/Castlefield
Mr Thomas' chop shop
HTML http://www.beerintheevening.com/pubs/s/11/1127/Britons_Protection_Hotel/Castlefield
possibly ....BUT i'm sure there will be a few suggestions
....even from those that are happy to drink Robinsons Pish ;-)
(and yes i'm qualified to comment on it as i grew up in
Stockport ;D)
