Bannegon

Hey Peeps
Sorry we didn't make it to the Leafers at the Pit, we were
looking forward to catching up with you all again. As it turned
out, our lovely Flash passed away :( so I was glad to have
stayed home with him being poorly.
I'm just trying to sort out my shifts for september and was
wondering if there are plans for a trip to Bannegon this year??
Cheers
GEM

Firstly, 'Le Bal de Series' isn't at Bannegon this year; but it
isn't that far away from there so no great sweat for anybody
planning on going.
Secondly, I won't be, for two reasons.
#1 - Last year's splash was so luke-warm that were it not for
spending some time with the evergreen Parksy (DYSWIDT?), a few
of the decent French lot and a return trip in convoy with the
legend that is the gay engine'd Dougal, I'd have considered the
whole enterprise a complete waste of time and money. Which isn't
strictly to say 2012 and the re-location will produce the same
results...far from it. There's every possibility some excitement
and novelty may be injected into it. However, there's another
factor.
#2 - It's the week-end of my mother's 70th birthday and we have
some family coming over in a surprise party type fashion.
But, as ever, should any Euroleafers be inclined to extend their
sojourn by swinging S.W. towards my spread, we have camping
space (about 4 tents max. now) plus a spare double bedroom.
I'll aid anybody who wants to book with LTDS, but, as I say,
I'll not be there.

Any news on dates and location, Drew?
P.S. I'll bring a birthday card for Carol!

Here's the home-page of LTDS, which has the details and links
on...
BAL DES SÉRIES
HTML http://www.le-temps-des-series.com
It's at a place called Ferrières sur Sichon, which is slightly
N.E. of Clermont-Ferrand and about 4 1/2 hours East of me.
I repeat, campers welcome at ours afterwards, with a 'first come
- first served' situation on the spare bedroom (double).
Cazza would like a card, Mike. 8)

Thanks Drew. Is anybody else up for this, or want to take the
passenger seat in Dougal?

this is running in the back of my mind 8)
only 927km when i deny any use of tolways on google maps from my
house.
czech republic was about 1200km and i did that in 2 days easy so
this should also be done in 2 days.
did about the same in 12 hours with the caravan of doom going
back from Swiss .
So depending work and money i suggest leafing Wednesday/Thursday
and home on Tuesday for me
