Series 2 V8 re-rebuild

Evening everyone, guess it's about time I started posting a bit
more and getting a few photo's uploaded on this re-rebuild of my
S2 :)
I bought it as an unfinished project a few years ago and built
quickly it up more-or less as the PO has intended; V8 and
soft-top, I put gay axles from a boingy with leaf-spring
reversion under it to keep it a bit more betterer though. Truth
be told I rushed it to get it done as I was shipping out to
Zambia at Easter and I started in February!
As finished with a bit of new paint..

And generally messed around in it going sideways where possible
and as fast I could everywhere else.
As time passed I got a little annoyed with the corners I'd cut
when building it and interested in what else I could do to it;
eventually it got to the point where so many things annoyed me
and I wanted to change enough things that I...

Started taking it all apart again to start over ;D
Doing it all at work means I can use the ramps and lifts as well
as the Polish car wash over the road...

All power washed off along with copious amounts of chemicals and
solvents to take as much of the underseal off as possible so the
shotblasters would be kind

Open presents from Ashcrofts...Series 5-speed conversion - so I
can fit an LT77 or R380 (for a 5th gear ratio without a horrible
overdrive) and keep the series transfer box (for sideways
hoon-tastic moments).

KWD stylee Megajolt ignition to help the LPG and petrol get
along, possible power steering, rebuilds of the axles and
t-case, better cooling, generally making it a nicer place to be
when driving and DOING IT ALL PROPERLY AND NOT RUSHING THIS
TIME!!!!!!!!!!!

Awesome stuff Joe!
Did you ever take the old gearbox apart? I've never heard a
gearbox make quite such a cacophony of broken noises as that one
did... rofl
Let me know if you need a hand with the megajolt stuff - you
really will not regret it!

Nice to see two V8 projects at top o t'forum! 8) V8's really do
rule!! 8)
I remember reading this on t'old forum, really enjoyed that and
look forward to following this! :thumbs: :popcorn:

Phil - no not quite, close though, one of the photo's (up there)
shows it quite well, they do stick out a bit though.
And nope, I'm not near York at the moment as it happens (more's
the pity), currently working in Maidenhead in Berkshire :-\
Meadows, I fully plan on stripping that box...wonder if it will
beat the twisted 3rd-4th synchro hub from the last one??!!
