Cheers chaps!!! 8) I'll add some more then ;D
Now, you might have noticed in the pics above that the left hand
bulkhead outrigger looks replaced...it is! This is because when
I set about removing the old bulkhead, I found that some bright
spark had welded the bolts into the outriggers!!! :wanker: (when
will it end?? ???) So grinder out, right hand side no problem -
bolts dropped out, left hand side - no chance!!! About 5
evenings and the same amount of broken drill bits later, I
decided bollox to it and cut the fecker off!! The outgriggers
look like modified civvy ones anyway, so I bought a pukka LWT
one from Richards and stuck it on. Sorted!

While I was at, got some angle and put the bracing back in from
main rail to outrigger, where they had been cut-off before
(again, why ???).

HTML http://i1162.photobucket.com/albums/q533/YorkieV8/IMG00204-20111020-1745.jpg[/img]
Just back-tracking a bit, I also got a proper LWT front panel to
replace the bodged, rusty one that it came with. To compliment
that, I found a cheap proper mesh grill to replace the placky
civvy one. I then tried to mek a dumb-iron brace using the old
civvy bumper, but it looked shit so threw that...
HTML http://i1162.photobucket.com/albums/q533/YorkieV8/IMG00192-20111013-2104.jpg[/img]
...and later bought a new brace off ebay. In the meantime, I had
sourced a proper LWT bumper and bumperette. Still need to get
another bumperette.

Now, you're all probably wondering about those luverly wheels!!
:WTF You see when I first got the lightweight I was a bit :gay:
and one day thought "mmm those wheels look like something from
an american muscle car - I'll polish 'em up and they'll
compliment the V8 nicely" when I woke up I noticed my wrist had
gone limp, so slapped myself around the face a bit and thought
about what wheels to replace 'em wi.
I like forward control/one ton rims, but they remind me of
something heavy, so maybe not very LWTish, standard rims are
coolest, but I want some width and slightly aggressive stance,
so no to them. Wolf, again very nice and strong, but too
obvious! So, I remember seeing triallers with modified disgay
rims for better steering lock. I think they are stronger than
standard too, so maybe I could go trialling one day ??? So got
some gay rims:
HTML http://i1162.photobucket.com/albums/q533/YorkieV8/IMG00158-20110825-1644A.jpg[/img]
Then an engineer friend did this
[IMG]
HTML http://i1162.photobucket.com/albums/q533/YorkieV8/IMG00158-20110825-1644.jpg[/img]
Then I did this to tone 'em down a bit
[IMG]
HTML http://i1162.photobucket.com/albums/q533/YorkieV8/IMG00214-20111103-1950.jpg[/img]
The colour is Midnight Blue, which is what the rest of the LWT
is being painted. I wanted it to look a bit 'Royal Navy' but
love the colour of my cousin's steam Sentinel wagon, so used the
same colour and supplier. 8)

Your cousin doesn't have a matching Scammell Pioneer does he?
Reverse Disco rims are of dubious sexuality, but yours do look
pretty smart I admit.

No unfortunately not mate, but wish he did, would be nice to
play with! 8)
The only problem with wider rims on a LWT is they stick out, so
had to get some new gay black plastic wheel arch extensions, but
not painting them - that really would be a bit fruity! :gay:
After sealing the seams with err seem-sealer, I painted the
bulkhead in the same paint, but rather than spraying, which I
admit would be best, I went the little gloss roller route. Spray
goes everywhere and I haven't got the means to do a decent job
with decent paint. I applied about 5 coats of paint, flattening
with wet n dry along the way...
HTML http://i1162.photobucket.com/albums/q533/YorkieV8/IMG00228-20111120-1328.jpg[/img]
...and then buffed with cutting compound to make shineeee!!! 8)
I quite enjoyed it - is that a bit queer?!
HTML http://i1162.photobucket.com/albums/q533/YorkieV8/IMG00229-20111122-2039.jpg[/img]
Fitted some heat sheild to the inner sections to keep the engine
hot...I mean my legs cool!!! ;D
[IMG]
HTML http://i1162.photobucket.com/albums/q533/YorkieV8/IMG00217-20111108-2126.jpg[/img]
Then loosely bolted it back on and started nailing some
second-hand but super lightweighty bits on 8)

WARNING GAY WHEELS IN BACKGROUND!! Servo brake pedal conversion
and clutch pedal on. I made some gaskets from surplus waterproof
laminate flooring underlay. Not paying Landy prices, no way!! Is
it obvious that I'm tight yet??! ;D ;D

Home-made exhaust system consists of Steve Parker Y-section
joined to various bits of 2" pipe straight to a
Supercharged-Rangey-Sport-V8 backbox that points out at the
usual place behind the off-side rear wheel. 8) 8) Thought about
sticking it through the PTO hole, but dint wanna gas me sen when
driving wi no roof like! ;D

And almost forgot, but this is the filler and plug that I had to
make in the rear diff casing: 8)

Cheers Goose! 8)
Back up front (this thread's all over the place!!), the
second-hand replacement front-panel has had minor repairs and
then painted. I also welded a length of channel between the main
shazzy rails to mount the SD1 rad. I then bent up a small panel
to join it to the front panel at the top (no harm was done to
panel or shazzy you see! 8)) sprayed in satin black and then
using the original holes, bolted it all together! Tried bonnet
on and yey - it shuts!!! :giddy:
HTML http://i1162.photobucket.com/albums/q533/YorkieV8/IMG00311-20120320-2111.jpg[/img]
Made up some coolant pipes, using new sections supplied by my
local motor factor. They do a big selection of bends n all
sorts! 8) Fitted a debender TD5 expansion tank, which I must
say, when raised on nylon pillars of the same colour, looks like
it's meant to be there 8) 8) The system is designed kind of
along the lines of the stagey V8. It works, so happy so far! 8)

Original heater stripped and repainted in satin black
[IMG]
HTML http://i1162.photobucket.com/albums/q533/YorkieV8/IMG00293-20120304-1328.jpg[/img]
Fitted said heater and plumbed in. Had to make the top bracket
as it was previously none existant! Then found a cheap
pukka, but a bit bent LWT dash panel with instruments.
Straightened it and covered in gay vinyl. The bezels around the
clocks may also be a bit gay but I like 'em! They're off a
Triumph or summat and fit straight on Landy gauges! 8) The aux.
panels are homemade from thick plastic sheet offcuts from work
(again!) and also covered in vinyl! Just need to fit the oil
pressure gauge that I bought at LAPT and a rev counter. 8)
HTML http://i1162.photobucket.com/albums/q533/YorkieV8/IMG00330-20120422-1343.jpg[/img]
Had a twat of a game getting the temp gauge working so that I
could run the engine in confidence. Spent many evenings after
work, trying all sorts until the penny dropped - I was trying to
get the series gauge to work with a V8 sender! No go! I thought
a sender was a sender :banghead Anyway, luckily a new series
sender fit straight into the V8 hole like a good 'un and I was
able to sit back and rev the beast to my hearts content (well
for about 5 minutes - there's still no fan fitted  ).
