Ok.. orange is out.. white walls are gay! Why are they called
dumb irons? The tires are rotted, and no way in hell would I
ever put them on white letters out. Frame is shit all the way
through. I have a block of lumber wedged between the front cross
member and front axle, I was scared it would just snap and cause
me all sorts of bleeding issues.

Another update.. its been a bit slow going, I have been out of
work for 2 months now.. I have some prospects, the state has
been helping me out with unemployment. The cash flow has been
slow, but luckily I have had a lot do do that did not require
funds.
Finished the repairs to my donor chassis, fitted the better
body, leveled and adjusted door gaps. Fitted one side footwell
and door post, about to tear into the LH footwell this week.
I picked up a truck cab and a Defender back seat (for the boys)
a nice set of rear springs, a brand new set of "free" fronts and
many various hand me downs..
I like the way it is going, once the other footwell is fitted,
its on to paint and sorting the motor and hydraulic system, that
should be most I need to get her driving.

Big update... been awhile. Finished now daily driving..

Well it's a while since my last post on my build. I finally
finished my truck. With a lot of help here and from the guys
over on gunsandrovers.com and defendersource.com, I acquired
many of the bits and bobs to finish it. Big thanks to oldun
(Roger) for helping me with a tilt there in the UK and getting
it sent over. I have been daily driving it since September,
sorted out the small issues along the way. I also picked up a
Fairey OD yesterday, I need to source a linkage for it and fit.
I found a Defender 5 main 2.25p motor locally and am very happy
with it. Currently I have a full 88 top, a full tilt and pu top
with 3/4 tilt. I have a few more smaller projects planned, not
much (window seals, fix a broken leaf spring, new shocks) have
have been wavering back and forth about painting the doors and
tub to match the wings and bonnet, but I have been holding my
breath for a set of original pastel green wings to surface..
I'll give it another year unless I sell it to buy a 109 (I'd
like the back seats for the kids..)
Enjoy..
Chris

a special way rugged!

Thanks Flo.. yeah I have really been resisting painting the rest
of it.. I just can't get that patina back.. I like the way it
looks to. I have been focused on trying to not buy new bits for
it unless its a reliability or safety issue, again I am a sucker
for patina, it's the story you can't reclaim when they are all
shiney..
