Just come back from a quest around the back street mechanics for
a couple of rivets to fix our japcrap. Every single one is
packed (and I do mean packed) with pukka Series parts. Decent
leaf springs? Everyone's got them. 2.25D heads? Yep, no problem
there. Fantastic.

Nobody appears to have mentioned this yet, I think it was in a
magazine recently because suddenly lots of people have been on
about it

lol I know the guy who owns the ice cream van (in Whitby) Really
nice guy :D
My leafers are used as daily transport, aswell as taking me all
over the country (have driven around 300miles in the past two
days in the 88")
They have to be as my sensible daily driver (1968 Hillman Imp)
is off the road needing a new clutch & gearbox
My 88" is current favourite as the 109" is needing a new servo.
The 88" parked at the North Wales Gateway services on the A55
yesterday:

I think some people are missing the point. The original thread,
on the old forum, was about leafers REALLY working for a living.
Not towing a car, collecting a gearbox for one of your other
motors, or taking crap to the tip. Gilby's picture of the ice
cream van is an example of the real thing and the one that tows
a butty van was also the real deal. That's the kind of thing
we're after.
The original thread was started in 2006 and I expect that since
that time the number of real working leafers has reduced
considerably. I know that some of those I used to see about and
photted have gone now for sure.

Mine's a halfway there kind of thing. I USE it every day, to get
to and from work, and also for leisure collecting heavy crap
from around the nearer parts of the country. So it's working,
but not always for a living.
