The metro wheel was a nuisance, it did put my fingers to close
the stalk and I was forever needing to check the steering while
       travelling in a straight line.
I hope to post many more photos this weekend and probably will
post the original thread if I can pry my offspring from the PC.

Satin would have been my choice had I needed to buy the paint to
       do the job.

Taken yesterday Greys Lane on Winter hill, not the most
difficult lane but a nice change from tarmac.

It's big enough to see that it is indeed a big gay hybrid.
It's also orange, which means the taste police will be along
shortly to "stamp" the piccy anyway ;)

As truly awful as big gay hybrids are - at least this one's got
a "doing stuff to keep it working" story behind it becoming such
an abomination - and it's sporting no gayplate or one life
       stickers! Laughing
       G4 Orange though...

If some one did some magic with my small phots thank you, I had
massive difficulties uploading onto photobucket, I don't know if
this had anything to do with me using Linux but later when I
used a Windows PC I could see them and can today using Linux.
If some one did make the phots bigger please educate me.

'Twas me. You left the "_th" in the URL of the piccy. That _th
means thumbnail or something so now it's gone, the pics show up
to the proper size. You really ought to make them a bit smaller
in future so we they fit on the screen properly. 640x480 pixels
       is usual.

Yes the very same, I had all the parts ready mid December and
had intended to start the week that the snow came. Hopefully
I'll have it back on the road mid week and the wheel cylinders
that were on the back plates will have been a success after I re
honed them, other wise it will be another week of the road.

I ran out of stuff to do while the paint was drying, I've always
thought about setting them up with the DTI,
so I did. It now seems I've been doing them up a bit tight in
       the past.

Still gay but not as plasticky,
  HTML http://i711.photobucket.com/albums/ww116/ashcroft752/DSCF2323.jpg
Since some arse hole in a minicab decided that something nearly
7 Ft tall and bright orange is hard to see, I've had to remove
all the plastic tat from the front of the motor.
Home made from mesh and an old fire guard, going to get some
screw on press studs to cover the six screw holes, so I'll have
somewhere to attach a muff this winter.
Just needs a kick of black paint tomorrow.

That looks better! Now get a bumper on it. Smile It'll look even
better with a bumper and you'll have something to hit minicabs

I do have the bumper but the dumb irons of unknown origin are to
fat to fit properly in the bumper without trimming either or,
and it's buried under about 5 years of accumulated curiositys in
one of my dads sheds. May have a clear out soon and make it fit.

Nice. Looks like the Stage 1 88's I saw in Trinidad a couple of
       years ago.
       Oh yes and 7 foot tall and orange is indeed difficult to see;
there is an Aberdoom taxi driver that can testify to that.

May paint the cappings like that, when funds allow wouldn't mind
a proper set of sides and tropical roof.
Are the steering wheel centres supposed to be finished in smooth
       or crinkle paint?

Looking good now Ash. The Stage I front gives me the leafer
horn! I remember when I started college in Wales I saw a Stage I
for the first time which belonged to Morgans (?) estate agents
in Lampeter. It was a pick up and carried their for sale signs
around. I wasn't sure what I was seeing at the time but I liked
       it!
Which leaves me realising that it is the black plastic grille
and headlamp panels that I find so gay and probably not the
       G4(Y) orange paint afterall! Laughing
I reckon a galvy bumper with the fitting bits eased open a
       little would look cracking!
       Good de-gaying work, feller! Cool

Gay Dico seats gone, to The Wild Eye of this parish to be fitted

It seems to steer better since putting on the bumper.

Not a lot of galv under the paint on the cappings, I'm toying
with the notion of painting them black.

As I'm in the mood for de-gaying, I'm planning on fitting the
military fish eyes that I have lying about somewhere, mostly
because the lamps I have fitted are crap and not fit for use on
any Land Rover. They are permanently full of water and corrosion
which is a pity as I quite like them.
I'm putting the indicators back where they are meant to be and
will be fitting a reverse and fog (Rectangular Land Rover type.)
to cover the holes on one side.
  HTML http://i711.photobucket.com/albums/ww116/ashcroft752/backside.jpg
Can anyone tell me which side would be right for the number
       plate (1972)?

A bit tatty but will clean up and paint well
  HTML http://i711.photobucket.com/albums/ww116/ashcroft752/037.jpg
All the liner and pads in there, some of the pads and trim
pieces will need fresh vinyl , pity someone painted it black,
may have been done when owned by A Hitler Confused
  HTML http://i711.photobucket.com/albums/ww116/ashcroft752/039.jpg
It looks to have never leaked much in the past none of the roof
bolts were rusted, pity I had to dismantle it to store it.
Best get myself some Limestone soon and get spraying.

I believe it is off one of the SYF batch of vehicles - one was
broken and all the bits sold on eBay recently - looks familiar!

Having finally got enough pestering of my children the spare had
to be evicted from the tub.
So have spent the last 2 days fitting a bonnet spare wheel
carrier thanks to the generosity of Lozzaboy for the rubbers and
the rest of the mounting ipns and retainer ring, all I needed to
do was make some strengthening pieces.

All finnished, just need to get used to having it sat on the
       bonnet.

2 pack sprayed on. Not the best finish I've managed but good
enough for a panel which is mostly not easily viewable.

Just a standard etch primer, then top coat on top of that.

Main bit of the roof done, finish a lot better than the top
skin, just a slight run on the off side, which should be fixable
       without putting more paint on.
  HTML http://i711.photobucket.com/albums/ww116/ashcroft752/DSCF3185.jpg
Next step glue in the insulation and replace the head lining.

Rear half of the headlining fitted.
  HTML http://i711.photobucket.com/albums/ww116/ashcroft752/DSCF8228.jpg
Camping mat glued, in place of mouse piss moisture gathrering
       horse hair insulation.
  HTML http://i711.photobucket.com/albums/ww116/ashcroft752/DSCF8229.jpg
Full head lining fitted, wasn't as difficult as I feared.
  HTML http://i711.photobucket.com/albums/ww116/ashcroft752/DSCF8230.jpg
Second skin riveted in place, just needs a while polishing out
the blemishes on the roof and the alpine windows fitting, a job
       I'm not looking forewards to.

Work has stalled on the tub untill I can happen across a decent
piece of ally for the floor so I've stripped the side panels and
slathered on a fresh lick of paint.

Proper lamps replacing the gay ones I had, I now remember why I
waited so long, huge holes all white and powdery where the
smaller indicator sized ones where :( next job will be replacing
       the wing front panels.
Rear end done and recently re discovered 3D plate fitted, proper
badge back on smaller badge to be peeled soon as I can be arsed.
