Readymix Rally @ Huddersfield (Red Doles Lane off A62 Leeds Road

The Readymix Rally takes place this Sunday (20th May) at the
Readymix site on Red Doles Lane in Huddersfield, which is off
the A62 Leeds Road near the Galpharm Stadium. A nice little
rally with a good mix of exhibits from Stationary Engines to
Steam Cranes! - well there was one there the other year!

No I don't think so, its actually on the premises of readymix,
so in and amongst cement silos and stuff. There are some odd
bits of old plant kicking about, and the last time I was there,
there was a mini bus running to take people back and from Mr
Myers (of Naylor-Myers builders merchants) home, where he has an
extensive private collection of old stuff.
It is at Barr Street (my mistake) HD2 1YD - opposite the road
leading to the Galpharm Stadium. You can see it on Google maps

Yeah, its not a massive event, but there is always some
interesting stuff there. There were a lot of stationary engines
there too, as well as the steam crane again, but it was tucked
away in a corner. I also met up with 'Mark' from Huddersfield
Land Rover Centre, but he had not brought anything along today.

I saw a quite a nice Series one today out and about in Halifax
Steve (although it appeared to have a "comedy" set of wheels on
it!) :haha:
