       Rover P4 4.3:1 diffs

Firstly, someone please tell me that they fit! As I've just
       bought 3 of them.
Secondly, has anyone on here ran them? Are they worth fitting as
they are around 10% higher ratio than the standard 4.7's

       ;D Happy days! :giddy:
Cost just over £100 for the three so I think it was a bit of a
       bargain.

Yes they fit. I have one out of my P4 that I swapped for a range
       rover diff.

As an alternative to the 3.7, how do they compare when running
       with a tdi?

Yes, I have been running one for a while and it does give a
useful extension to the gearing. Undecided whether I can be
bothered of going to the faff of fitting one to the front or
just refitting a 4.7 to the rear. The 4.3 gives about 10%
increase in gearing, so the same as swapping from SLT's to 750's
       (give or take)

i fitted one in the back of my 109 (with 200tdi) along with an
overdrive, 85mph was really easy to reach (probably 90) only
problem is i feel it is still undergeared for an empty vehicle,
first gear is still almost redundant
       i towed a mates 88" behind my 109 with 4.3 diff whilst i had
half a tub of pallet bearers in the back plus camping gear and
the missus in the passenger seat, i barely noticed i was
       dragging his 88"
it will also do next to nothing to improve your mpg, only an
ideal ratio with the 200tdi if you tow heavy loads in a hilly
area on a regular basis in my opinion
it did shock a few car drivers away from the lights though rofl

I'll be running them in my lightweight, it's has 7.50's on and
2.25 petrol. 1st gear is practically redundant now, so I guess
with these diffs I may use it a little more. I'll report back
how they are once fitted. But it'll be a while.

A bit of progress on these diffs. I've given them a good clean
and a bit of paint, renewed the front oil seal. And checked
       everything else over etc.
One observation that I've made is that they don't have a
mud/shit shield on the prop flange to protect the oil seal. Do
we think it matters? Or should I be thinking of swapping the
       flanges for land rover ones?
