300 tdi vacuum pump

I assume this is for the brakes and I can remove it and make up
a blanking plate for my series?

As long as you dont need vacumn for a servo then yes :thumbs:

unless you actually "need" the space then all i do is slip a
piece of tight fitting tube over the vacuum stub and plug that
with a tight fitting bolt
it's then there ready if you should eventually desire a servo (
i want a remote servo for Big Ears eventually)

If its the same fitting as a 200tdi, it's even easier than that
- just stick a M8 bolt with a couple of turns of insulation tape
round it down the original hole - problem solved.
Don't run the engine with it unplugged, and unused - as it pumps
the sump up, and the engine starts breathing oil something
shocking (guess how I found that out).

unbolt it and make a nice plate to cover the hole? It runs off a
cam, you can sell these units as the top hat the cam lands on
can break up. You also rmeove a leak source on the side of the
engine as the unit is held together with rivets and in time the
hammering effect can force the body apart cuasing an oil leak.
So there you go, I bet your "bolt down the hole" brigade didn't
know any of that :haha: :wanker:

no i didn't know any of the "hammering effect" (i don't have a
300tdi) i was just suggesting an alternative :haha: :wanker:
