Engine crane

Looking at buying 1 of these anyone have anything bad to say
about them. Got one of them vat free card things so the price
seems ok.

You may struggle with stability at full stretch with that, the
100kg capacity will only be with it on its shortest reach.

passenger door. coped ok with lifting the 88"'s body work off in
one when I swapped the chassis too.

Think ive got that 1 tonne one but its not here so I cant check.
It doesnt quite have enough reach to put a engine back in my
86". But it will take one out fine :banghead

Having used Lucys engine to do the swap on WSL I can vouch for
its ease of use.

The more i look the more i like the one in the link Lucy has
shown. I have borrowed the last few times but need to buy my
own.

I browed a 1 ton crane and its not long enough to reach into the
engine bay on a series 3

I have got one of those - used it to lift an engine and box
together on a slightly sloping driveway with no problems.
Another point to add, I managed to break one of the rear
'castor' wheels, and thought that was it, but Clarke sell a full
range of spare parts for it too - very cheap, so no worries
about obsolescence.
Even for small jobs like lifting a cylinder head off they are
worth having - you only get one 'back'.

I've used it to take a 200 TDi out of a knackered Disco for a
transplant and I have no complaints what so ever.
Delivery was quick and it comes with an engine leveller which is
really useful.
