Scruffy Old gertie gets a Make over
By: The Rhubarb Cowboy Date: April 15, 2012, 3:14 pm

Sometime last year I collected a tub from Jim in Doncaster
supplied by Joskin
My tub was fucked and needed replacement from day 1 but I had
enough on my plate getting the old girl back on the road from a
£100 wreck to a more expensive wreck :smile1
This weekend I have finally removed the hard top and started the
swap of the tub

totally knackered old tub

Stripped most of the gear off the old tub

Tub came off easily with 2 lifting

new use found for hard top
the old tub is off the new one is taking a little bit of
caoaxing to get into position ::)
Going to try loosening off the seat box to get it into position
correctly.

Did some more work on this tonight, after failing to get the fub
to mate with the seat box yesterday :banghead Slacned every bolt
off and removed where icba and and hey presto i have the tub
bolted to the seat box. The drivers door shuts ( can anyone
remember how shit my previous door gaps were?)
Run out of daylight tonight ::)

Unfortunately Dave this work is the beginning of the end for the
abstract Harlequin colour scheme.
Of course it is also the beginning of the nd for the Best Rat
Status :haha:
However it takes me so long to get around to doing stuff ,the
repaint might not happen before leafers this year. The tub is
certainly a massive improvement on the old one and it is
spurring me onto doin more painting

Single colour Landrovering takes a big step forwards, cannot see
me doing a lot of painting in the next couple of weeks. I would
like to have a bash at fitting the LPG conversion, refitting the
tilt and getting through the test ::)

Nice one Paul
I did the same job on my old 2a for the same reasons, it was
quite a shock having doors that stayed shut and a tailgate that
closed without needing to twist it.
