A thread to post up your LR history....
My first car. 1975, 2.25 diesel, overdrive, Renault 21 seats and
heater from a Mini.

Then I bought this petrol 88 from my grandad.

So repairedificationed it and returned it to the original
colour.

At a farm sale near Horsham my mate Jim and I gave £200 for this
109 HCPU with a knackered 2.25 diesel. Fitted a 2.5 Sherpa
engine and I ran it for a while.

In the meantime we bought this 1959 V8 S2 and broke it up for
ca$hback

Another diesel 88 - "Katie"... fuckin loved this motor, had some
real good fun with it at a time of life with it's fair share of
ups and downs. Unfortunately it was extremely broken in every
possible way and ended up being recycled :-\ :'(

This was advertised in the local paper, my housemate and I
bought it for £450 and had a bit of fun with it, put a truck cab
on painted it green and then sold it.

Here's my house on the farm, came with the job and lived with
two mates from college. That's my housemate's 2a LWT and blue
109 with my 88.

I then bought a V8 Series 2a with a dubious identity and lots of
buggered bits, this ended up being combined with a friend's
knackered S2A (reg. no. PRX 227B) which was one of the first
200Tdi conversions and had quickly destroyed the transmission.
My friend took the engine out for his 90 and was breaking up PRX
when I bought what was left. Ran it for 5 years as a V8, a year
with a 2.25 diesel and then fitted a 200Tdi. Now lives with
Icedmunkie.

1960 S2 petrol, bought this cheap from a friend, sold it to Jim
who then sold it to another friend... it's laid in pieces in a
hedge at Jim's farm for about 8 years now, poor old thing.

For a while I worked shifts at an engineering works, 4 days on 4
off and decided to break a few Landies in my spare time (no
wife, house, dog etc then).
I killed a few 88s and a 109, this was probably the worst...

This one was a bargain, had been ID-raped to ring a boingy I
suspect and cost me £100 with overdrive and a good bulkhead, did
well out of that one.

Good stuff Kev, you certainly owned a few!! Had to laugh at the
picture with the toasted chassis, I bet John Eastwood could do
wonders with it ;)
I only ever had 1 Series... Alfred which I still have after 4
years now so not much story from me.
The only other Series I ever lusted at was that sweet IIA 88
with V8 that Toby had at EoD 2009.... I already said it numerous
times to him... You shoud have sold that one to me :-)

Only one I would call lost would be the lightweight with bored
Essex v6 that I foolishly disposed of to buy a boingy (I know
but in my defence I was young and , if it's possible even more
foolish than I am now ;D )
Loved that truck even if it did boil and blow a head gasket
about every six weeks - it were great in the traffic light gp
:D
If anyone knows where fru 521l is.... oh and it was fifteen days
too young to be tax exempt too >:(

A few from me.
The land rover that got me started, how richer I could have been
if i'd never bought this one. Selt it a couple of years since,
regretted it since really

Then their was a 79 S3, bought for £120 had the sweetest two and
a quarter ive ever come accross, and an overdrive on it. Was a
good parts donor
Next came this one, Im currently trying to buy it back

i've bought four, broke one up for bits and still got the other
three
only been tinkering with landies for about three years so not
really had enough opportunity for a big list
