Paddocks webshite

It's well-known that I don't get on well with buying stuff other
than with folding money and my latest experience has only made
me more reluctant to use websites.
I just went on the Paddocks site to order a single Procomp 3000
front shock absorber. They demand that you open an account with
them, rather than just giving card details as a one-off payment
so I did this after putting the shock absorber and other items
in my 'shopping cart' only to find that they won't sell a single
shock absorber and that the minimum order is 2! FFS do they
think that I'm going to buy two shock absorbers when only one is
leaking and the other is perfectly servicable?
Not only that but the website wanted me to log in and then kept
saying that I'd given the wrong password! I'm damned sure that I
hadn't given the wrong password but I clicked the thing anyway,
only to be told that my email address wasn't registered with
them. FFS it is registered with them! What else was I doing
typing in my details only moments before! I can only assume that
there is a lenghty delay between submitting the details and the
account being opened...
Well, they've just lost about £50 worth of sales due to their
crap webshite and their attempt to force me to buy something
that I neither want nor need. I'll go to the Huddersfield Land
Rover Centre instead. It may cost more but at least I get to
speak to a real person who knows what's what and won't demand I
give him a fucking password before ordering!
Yours, in technophobia,
Dave

Huddersfield Land Rover centre are now techtronic Dave - no card
system, no rifling through bits of paper, you spend your brass
and get a computer generated receipt - just warning you!

Last I knew, it was standard practice to replace dampers in
pairs however. ::)

When did that happen? Surely Michael must still look through
those battered old parts books? Don't tell me they've
computerised that too and they now peer at a bloody silly
monitor when searching for parts, FFS? Unlike computerz, card
systems and parts books don't fail so if it ain't broke...
I despair, I really do.

paid for next day delivery, 5 days later when the good show up,
they refuse to refund the delivery charge.

I think Dave should just removed all of them, it'll be cheaper
for his ways even if it does mean he'll be slightly ill with the
boinginess of it all. :bleurgh
