my lightweight Larry

This is my lightweight larry i started out doing a few repairs
and a tidy up which ended up being a major rebuild i have done
800 miles since finishing it. i am now converting to a 5 speed i
am doing this without any chassis or body mods and the engine is
staying in the same place i tested the conversion in another
series 3 first and it works a treat .

can we have some details of how you do the 5 speed conversion as
this is something i have considered doing for a while now. My
existing gearbox is rather tired and it would make sense to
upgrade considering the usage mine gets

i will reveal the full story on my 5 speed conversion soon i
have lots of pictuers on my camera but i have made changes to
mounts and bits since i tested it in the other lightweight, it
is an R380 box with an ashcroft adaptor to a series 3 transfer
case with custom mounts to pick up origional crossmember mounts
i had a custom wide angle prop made i still have a few bits to
sort out , i will do a post on the whole job when i have sorted
everything this is the only picture i have at the moment as i
left the camera at the workshop.

last year was not to be i will be 5 speed before the first show
hopefully, i cant wait to evict that whining fairy from the
lightweight
