Overdrive identification please

I have an option on this overdrive. According to the seller it's
the latest type Toro, but I thought the later type had the
dipstick? Can anyone tell me what type it is AND if it is
complete?

whatever it is (I think toro) those clutch sleeve splines are in
a pretty bad condition and the bearing surface for it in the
input gear is looking prety bad to ... you haven't bought it
have you :eek:

I'm sure it's a Toro. I've had both Toro and Fairey and the
teeth/splines are fewer but larger (and supposedy stronger) on
the Toro. There does appear to be some scuffing on that sleeve
though.

It IS a Toro, but I don't think it's the later type.
And I haven't bought it, but thinking of it. The seller claims
it's in perfect condition (no whines or noises), but the 109 it
was in is beyond repair and stood still for a couple of years.
But seeing the photo's I think he's asking far to much for it.

It is Toro (same as the one Dave gave me) and as Alex says,
those bearing surfaces are in bad shape. Indeed, I'd say too bad
for it not to make any noise. Looks like it's been poorly lubed
and has been a' rattling.
If it was in tip-top nick, he'd have every right to ask more
than a Fairey because they are, indeed, much stronger. But I
wouldn't risk this one.

regardless of what the seller claims, make a judgement on what
is sat in front of you
look at the teeth on the clutch sleve, almost half their
thickness has gone.
look at the bearing surface, what should be completely smooth
and the groves in it are clearly visible.

I know, i know. But i've had to go on what he said and got these
photo's just tonight.
Now that i've seen the pics on my computer screen it's a whole
different story.

looking the condition i'd say it's no more use than a large
paper weight :(
there is someone on the AULRO though that is possibly getting
clutch sleeves for these manufactured along with the input
gear/shaft, i'd have to do some digging to refind the thread
though
