Thanks for the quick reply Steve.
Great information and good photo's. Every time I see photo's of
your 80' and Parksy' 88' I start to go a bit weak at the knees.
I think I will have to start the quest to find one down here and
build up a Series One project to accompany my Series 3. They are
very few and far between down here and I can imagine that that
would be similar in the Old Country as well. I guess that is one
of the reasons that makes them so attractive.
It is now officially on my bucket list!! Thanks for the
       inspiration.
       Regards Warrick.

No worries mate. Those couple of inches mate a big difference I
       am reliably told.
       Regards Warrick.

I know that this Series One is hardly original but what year and
model has this grill? I really like that front end.
       Regards Warrick.

The early 80s had these grills, 48,49,50 so your search just
       became a little harder :haha:

Thanks for the feedback Parksy. I suspected it would be a rare
beast as I haven't seen any over here in person. I am sure that
there are some in existence in Oz though because land rover's
were imported into Australia in 1949 I believe. Are there many
       getting around on British roads?
       Regards Warrick.

Very few, and the ones that do are going for a big premium!

Surely it must be possible to remanufacture those grilles?
