The Bus. 1950 80" Tdi
By: vidal130 Date: January 5, 2012, 6:07 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
I have tried to paste all my old thread but can't even get on
the old forum, so here is a quick review.
I bought the Bus in 1995 as a 2.25 petrol which had been a
trialler and was used and abused. It was my everyday motor on
and off until recently when I bought a 2CV to run around in for
mainly economic reasons. It is still first choice for any family
holiday and gets used as much as possible. Due to the expanding
family we had to buy a WW2 M201 J**p trailer as the kids have to
go in the back in some special (thanks Steve OVS) seats. The Bus
has been improved over the years including fitting a 200Tdi, new
bulkhead, new seats etc... Basically it has grown up with me and
been modified to suit along the way and its always going to be
part of the family. Over the years we have had many an adventure
together, from the skint seat of the pants early days, to
getting married in it, to the mad eurotrip last year

I am
still trying to find out some of the history and have had some
luck from some of previous owners sending some photos and giving
me some of its interesting history including it being a butchers
van and appearing on a television series in the 80s. Anyway here
are too many pics-

Yes, good old Tong, have not been in a while (can't afford the
repair bills weeks and months down the line from all that crap
getting everywhere) but hope to be going again when the Beast
gets up and running, sometime 2013ish ::).

Great pics Steve! I always mean to ask, but what is the
significance of your avatar which also features on the tailgate
and back of your trailer?

;)Always admired The Bus from afar. Probably the best looking
in the forum.
I'm in the process of converting my 86" from a 2.25petrol to a
200 tdi and i'm clueless with the wiring any tips? Is it
straight forward?
