       Overdrive problems.

My overdrive has started to jump out when in forward gears and
it jumps out when not engaged in reverse. Andylandy says I need
a couple of swivel pads for the selector fork, my OD is I think
a Bearmach unit (which makes it a TORO type??), so will the
Fairy/Superwinch pads fit my OD or are they different?

Check the adjustment of the selector rod is correct before
changing parts - if not they jump out of gear, and it costs
       nothing to adjust it
Make sure it actualy clicks into gear (i.e fully engaged)
could be the pads on the fork if it doesnt go fully in to gear,
but if it is going fully in it isnt them

Yeah I think it is adjusted up so the pads need replacing.

Did you ever find a pair of pads? My toro also does the same and
having stripped it down its the pads thats worn. Also need a
seal but that might not be as hard to find.

I have one that does this. I have changed the pads, but to no
avail. I reckon it is a worn synchro assembly, rather than just
the pads. No amount of adjustment will fix it. It appears to be
a common fault on the Toros

Alright Toby, I have mine in component parts all over the garage
floor and have checked everything over - the only thing i can
see that is worn, and its worn badly are the pads, and even with
full adjustment on the fork, the selector cannot engage fully
due to the pads being worn The rest of the od seems to have very
little wear as everything else feels nice and tight. I have
sourced the oil seal locally for a fiver, just need to sort the
pads out. I was wondering if the ones out of a lt95 box would
fit or could be made to fit, failing that its build the old ones
up with weld and machine them back to an acceptable size if
       correct replacements cannot be found.

Hi, sorry just seen this, yes it was the pads and managed to
find some and it's been all fine. I will try and find where I
       got them from.

Think that part no is the same as the 5th gear ones on an lt77.
However, I think im sorted, I got a pair of brass ones from all
gears in worksop, from a vauxhall something or other, which once
they were filed down fit in perfectly. Got a replacement end
seal (the big one) from trans bear co. on the industrial estate
in worksop off the shelf. its all back togetheher now just got
other issues with fitting it - the nut on the mainshaft in the
transfer case is "undone" but has been wearing in this position
for a while and as such is welded itself to the shaft. GRRRR.

I know the selector pads in the Fairey unit are the same as LT77
5th gear ones, so probably the same item as the Toro units then?
